Who Can Apply

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Junior Knights, a USA Hockey-sanctioned team led by Director of Knights Hockey Alex Vasko, were formed in 2007 to strengthen youth hockey in northeastern Pennsylvania. The program emerged during a surge of local interest in ice hockey, fueled by the 1999 arrival of the American Hockey League (AHL) franchise in Wilkes-Barre. This exposure to professional hockey, combined with growth in youth, scholastic, and recreational sports, provided the perfect foundation for the Knights to establish a robust platform for young athletes to develop and compete.
