Alumni
Development at the WBS Knights produces results at the highest levels of hockey. In the 2026 NHL Draft, three Knights alumni from the 2008 birth year were selected: Nikita Klepov in the first round, 15th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks; Oleg Kulebiakin in the second round, 52nd overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning; and Alexander Karmanov in the seventh round by the San Jose Sharks. In all, nine Knights alumni have been chosen in the NHL Draft, including current and recent NHL players Ivan Provorov, Daniel Sprong, and Denis Smirnov.
Over the past ten years, more than 80 WBS Knights alumni have advanced to NCAA Division I hockey, and eleven have moved directly from the Knights into Tier I junior programs in the USHL and OHL. These results reflect a sustained, organization wide commitment to developing players for the highest levels of the game. That development is anchored by Hockey Director Raymond Giroux, a former NHL defenseman, Yale University captain, and Hobey Baker Award finalist whose 16 year professional career spanned the NHL, AHL, and KHL.
