Goaltending Training
The Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Jr Knights continue their partnership with Pierson Performance Goaltending (PPG).
Pierson joined the Knights in the 2020 season and introduced structure and great experience to the Knights program. Under Pierson’s leadership, all lesson plans are coordinated well in advance and catered to the specific needs of the goalkeeper by age group and skill level.
Additionally, Mr. Pierson serves as a member of USA Hockey’s instructor staff where he provides coaching tools and resources to coaches throughout the Atlantic District to develop goaltenders throughout the United States.
The Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Jr Knights are proud to announce their partnership with Goalie Dr. for the 2023-2024 season. Goalie Dr., the official goalie training organization for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, is owned by lead instructor, Coach Matt Tendler, a USA hockey level 4 coach who has over 18 years of coaching experience, including NCAA DIII Head coach and Assistant Coach. Matt also has over 25 years of playing experience, including an NCAA Division III National championship with Neumann University and playing professionally for the Hershey Bears and Reading Royals.
Goalie Dr. Director of Program Development Coach Mitch Harris will be the lead instructor for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights organization. Coach Harris has over 7 years of coaching experience and is currently the goalie coach for Alvernia University (NCAA Mens Division III) Hill School Boys Varsity prep school team and is a USA Hockey Level 4 coach. Coach Harris serves as guest faculty for multiple elite summer camps. In addition to his on ice coaching, also works with CoachThem to provide goalie specific drills for their coaching app.
